Alice Cooper kept an Andy Warhol painting in storage for decades after he forgot he had it. Now the rock star is putting the artwork up for auction to give someone who truly values it a chance to own it.
Titled “Little Electric Chair,” the Warhol silkscreen on canvas will be available to purchase through the Larsen Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona. The auction will take place Oct. 23.
Managing director Scott Larsen told The Arizona Republic, part of the USA TODAY Network, that the piece is estimated at $2.5 million to $4.5 million. Cooper was gifted the painting in 1972 by his former girlfriend and model Cindy Lang who bought it for $2,500.
There has been a bloodbath in the United States in the past few months.
From 2003 to 2020, there had been no federal executions, and only four going all the way back to my birth in 1959. In the 230 years since records began in 1790, we had averaged only marginally more than one federal execution a year.
However, in the last months of his tenure, President Donald Trump presided over the deaths of 13 prisoners, with six conducted after he lost the election. Typically for a president prone to excess, Trump broke various records, though none was particularly salutary: the most federal executions in seven months in history, and the first time a president had ever set executions after losing an election.

You ve got to hand it to Ashley Moody.
Just when I thought Florida s Attorney General had run out of reasons to keep Crosley Green in prison 32 months after his murder conviction was overturned, she comes up with a doozy.
Green is safer in prison than he would be a free man, Moody argues.
Green, whose conviction was overturned by a federal judge in July 2018, remains in prison while the state appeals the judge s ruling. The problem is that now the 63-year-old is being treated for re-exposure to tuberculosis as well as hypertension while the country tries to find its way out from under the COVID-19 pandemic. That s why his lawyers last month filed an emergency motion calling for his immediate release.
