Plans beginning for Bicentennial celebrations throughout Madison Co. View Comments As the year-long Bicentennial Celebration is set to begin in less than two months for Jackson and Madison County, celebration coordinator Elaine Christian said a plan is coming together to make sure that celebration gets outside the Jackson city limits. “We’re working with the volunteer fire departments throughout the county and other groups in communities to schedule and plan heritage celebrations for those areas,” Christian said. Those areas were identified when a group of about 50 people representing the entire county met at the Emergency Management offices at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport earlier this month to discuss the concept of celebrations throughout the county.
