PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has approached the Home Department to take disciplinary action against officers using unauthorised and illegally impounded non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles.
A letter has been sent to the Home Department in this regard.Inspector-General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sanaullah Abbasi a few months back had taken the initiative and directed all officials to return all NCP and case property vehicles to the concerned police stations. It was further instructed to hand over all the NCP and case property vehicles to the Customs and Excise Department for further disposal.
Sources confirmed that the police officers and officials had returned more than a 1,000 vehicles after IG’s instructions, which were sent to the Customs and Excise Department. These vehicles included the most expensive and precious ones.

JAMMU, Jan 15: Incredible it may sound but it is a fact that Government has failed to dig out facts about fraudulent appointments made in the Technical Education Department and Autonomous Bodies/ Corporations under its administrative control during the past more than one and half year even after framing of committee of bureaucrats.
The dilly-dallying approach on the part of the administration in this regard is notwithstanding the fact that complaints about fraudulent appointments in the Technical Education Department (now Skill Development Department) and its wings were received by none else than the Raj Bhawan.

JAMMU, Dec 31: In a big question mark on the performance of several departments, the Jammu and Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation Ltd (JKIDFC) has detected gaps and poor performance in the execution of many languishing projects. Moreover, it has expressed serious concern over splitting of tenders, duality of funding and delay in release of payments to the contractors.
Official sources told EXCELSIOR that in a recent meeting of the Corporation held to review languishing and non-initiated projects, Industries and Commerce Department submitted the list of 21 projects to be dropped from funding under JKIDFC.

SRINAGAR, Dec 29: After a huge public outcry over issuance of eviction notices to tribal population and traditional forest dwellers and axing of apple trees by forest department officials, the Government has started rolling out the Forest Rights Act 2006 (FRA) in Jammu and Kashmir.
A training schedule has been prepared by the Forest department wherein training will be imparted to Govt officers particularly Deputy Commissioners, Divisional Forest Officers (DFO’s) and Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDM’s) and other officers for implementing the Forest Rights Act in Jammu and Kashmir, according to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).
