CROWN POINT â A historic building s facade is set to be removed after engineers deemed it unsafe.Â
During a Monday Crown Point Historic Plan Commission meeting, Bryan Van Ryn, representing Duckit CRE, LLC, shared plans for 208 S. Main St., the former location of Antiques on Main. Due to the structural aspects and the existing building and the substructure of that wall, the report was given by the structural engineer that it s really not in a safe condition to restore, Van Ryn said.Â
Van Ryn said Duckit CRE is looking to construct a new facade and emulate what was there, noting a restaurant with a possible rooftop garden is proposed for the space.Â

View Comments
Despite the gloomy weather that has suffocated West Tennessee this week, local residents are gearing up for an eventful weekend as the Highway 70 Yard Sale commences its 18th annual year of fun finds, competitive sales and local exploration.
Barbra and Steve Pomeroy, captains of this unlikely ship, began the massive yard sale event which spans from Nashville to Memphis along Highway 70 as a small way to get more attention for their thrift store.
“My husband and I started thrift store business,” Barbra Pomeroy said. “We, being a mom and pop business, didn’t have any money left over for advertising.”
