Rome City School District delays return to in-school learning

The Rome City School District falls within the State of New York’s Yellow Zone. That means 20% of students and staff have to be tested for COVID-19 before opening the schools. The district plans to open multiple testing sites, along with a centralized evening location at Strough Middle School. Rome Superintendent of Schools Peter Blake is hopeful the schools will remain open. People want a sense of normalcy, and at some point and time we do have to try our best to give that to them, said Blake.
