Hadad-led NC replies on coaches, debt repayment, and outstanding AGM; Wired868 marks response
On Saturday 1 May, representatives for roughly half of the membership of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) wrote a stinging 14-page rebuke of the operation of the Fifa-appointed normalisation committee. The missive was forwarded to Fifa secretary general Fatma Samoura.
“We look forward to a prompt response from you with regards to our aforementioned concerns,” the members closed, “and ask that you specify in detail, how these matters will be addressed.”
‘Clearly unacceptable!’ Full TTFA letter condemning Robert Hadad and the Fifa-appointed NC
“[…] You have not called an annual general meeting and as such who will appoint the external auditors? Yourself? This is clearly unacceptable, since you cannot appoint an auditor that will audit your financial decisions.
“It is even more astounding that you have elected not to appoint an Audit and Compliance Committee […] as this committee is critical in reviewing the financial performance of your management.
“Your decisions regarding the aforementioned fact are frightening and it is a breeding ground for mismanagement and fraud…”

Ché screamer temporarily stuns hosts before Guatemala quell T&T’s futsal revolution
Trinidad and Tobago were eliminated from the 2021 Concacaf Futsal Championship last night after two successive group stage defeats against the Dominican Republic (6-2) and Guatemala (4-3) respectively.
But the Soca Warriors can claim to have left their mark in the confederation’s showcase tournament regardless, after an extraordinary goal from 20-year-old player Ché Benny.

Barney’s bible: The SSFL’s backward rule change; and what Yorke and Jordan did that our youths abandoned
So far I have only touched on youth development from a ball manipulation and decision-making viewpoint. However, playing in competitive games non-stop can also hinder the physical development and health of players.

Youth development in Trinidad, simply put, consists of tournaments and competitions. The Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL), Youth Pro League (YPL), Republic Bank Youth League, Next Level U-19 Tournament and Commissioner’s Cup are the main players in this arena.
