TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations agents and deputies with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office teamed up Tuesday, to rescue a stranded hiker from the Huachuca Mountains on Cochise County.
Late on Jan. 26, the Arizona Air Coordination Center received information from CCSO that a hiker was isolated and in distress in the Huachuca Mountains near Sierra Vista.

SIERRA VISTA â As the largest hospital in Cochise County, Canyon Vista Medical Center has been serving as a receiving station for people suffering from COVIDâ19 since March.
Valerie WellerâBrown, media specialist with CVMC, said the hospital has 20 COVIDâ19 patients right now, but did not know how many have been treated since the virus hit the county.
She stated in an email, âIt is difficult to imagine a more challenging time for our community than what we have faced over the past eight months of the COVIDâ19 pandemic. This public health crisis continues to take its toll on our community; demand even more of our energy and efforts to keep ourselves and others safe; and, quite frankly, change life as we know it.â

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A Cochise County Sheriffâs Office detective was transported to the hospital following a crash in Sierra Vista Monday night.
On December 28, 2020 at 7 p.m., a Cochise County Sheriffâs Office detective was en route to a duty station when he was struck by another vehicle in the intersection of Highway 90 and Gulio Cesare Avenue in Sierra Vista.
Sierra Vista Police Department, Cochise County Sheriffâs Office, and Sierra Vista Fire Department responded to the scene and reported that both vehicles were severely damaged.
