The province is setting up four more COVID-19 vaccine storage sites this week, including here in Cape Breton.
The cold storage sites will be at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Valley Regional Hospital and Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
The province says the new sites will be able to store any COVID-19 vaccine at the proper temperature.
The Regional Hospital will receive about 2000 doses the week of January 4

HALIFAX Nova Scotia Health is setting up four new COVID-19 vaccine storage sites across the province as they prepare to expand their vaccination program. Chief medical officer of health Dr. Robert Strang said the province is moving quickly. We have been very fortunate to be able to develop in just the space of a few weeks, the necessary freezer and fridge capacity that will be required for this massive vaccine program, Strang told reporters Monday. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which is being distributed across Canada, needs to be stored at -70 C. The cold storage sites will be at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Valley Regional Hospital and Yarmouth Regional Hospital. They will be able to store any COVID-19 vaccine at the appropriate temperature.

Nova Scotia is reporting two new cases of COVID-19.
One in the Central Zone and the other case is in the Western Zone.
Both cases are close contacts of previously reported cases.
Nova Scotia Health Authority labs completed 1,389 tests on Sunday.
Provincial officials also announced four more COVID-19 vaccine storage sites.
They will be located at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Valley Regional Hospital and the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
Vaccines will arrive in Sydney the first week of January and each site will receive 1,950 doses.
