Victorville man arrested, charged for alleged animal cruelty Victorville Daily Press A 25-year-old Victorville man tased and arrested after he allegedly abused a family dog and obstructed a deputy pleaded not guilty Tuesday to four criminal charges.   Christian Camarillo appeared by video in a Victorville courtroom and pleaded not guilty to making a criminal threat, obstructing an executive officer, animal cruelty and vandalism, court records show.  Camarillo had a public defender appointed and is scheduled to appear before a judge Feb. 18 for a pre-preliminary hearing. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a report of animal abuse in the 13500 block of Mesa Linda Avenue on Feb. 6.

YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Thursday, February 4, accused of sexual assault. Around 2 a.m. on January 26, deputies responded to a report of attempted rape at a residence on Ocotillo Avenue in Twentynine Palms. During their investigation, deputies determined that parolee Manuel Tarango, 34, of Yucca Valley had sexually assaulted a woman at the residence but had fled prior to deputy’s arrival. A $300,000 arrest warrant was issued for Tarango. On Thursday, February 4, members of the county Specialized Enforcement Division located and arrested Tarango in Yucca Valley. Manuel Tarango was arrested for investigation of sexual assault including oral copulation by force or fear, was booked into the West Valley Detention Center, and is being held without bail.

Manuel Tarango, 34, of Yucca Valley was arrested on Thursday. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, where he is being held without bail due to violating his parole. In the early hours of January 26, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff s Station received reports of an attempted rape at a residence in Twentynine Palms. Deputies arrived and learned that Tarango had sexually assaulted an adult female at the location, according to the department. Tarango fled the scene before deputies arrived.

AN ARREST AFTER A HIT AND RUN AT ROSS IN YUCCA VALLEY

A 35-year-old La Quinta woman was arrested in Yucca Valley Thursday night following a hit-and-run crash in a stolen car. About 10:15 p.m., deputies were called about a reckless driver in the parking lot of the Ross department store in Yucca Valley. The driver, later identified as Maria Alonso, had left the scene by the time deputies arrived, but learned she had been involved in a hit-and-run crash. Deputies located Alonso in the vehicle about a quarter-mile away. During the investigation, deputies learned the vehicle Alonso was driving had been reported stolen just a few minutes prior to the hit-and-run crash. Maria Alonso was arrested on suspicion of auto theft and hit-and-run, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with her bail set at $100,000.

TWENTYNINE PALMS WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED ROBBERY

A Twentynine Palms woman was arrested last week after getting in a fight with her roommate. Sherriff deputies were called about 1:30 p.m. to the 3900 block of Desert Heights Drive in Twentynine Palms on January 22 after Nancy Pugni, 62, reportedly approached her roommate with a knife and demanded his phone. When he did not give up his phone, Pugni pushed him onto his bed and attempted to take the phone herself, but the roommate continued to hold on to his phone and Pugni gave up and left the room. After the incident, Nancy Pugni was arrested for suspicion of attempted robbery and was booked at West Valley Detention Center with her bail set at $50,000.
