University President Thomas LeBlanc said in January that he expected the Special Committee on the Colonials Moniker to finalize its renaming recommendations by the end of the past academic year, but University spokesperson Crystal Nosal declined to say if the committee met the target. The University renamed the Cloyd Heck Marvin Center – with recommendations also targeted for the spring – as the University Student Center late last month, but officials have yet to share any updates on the status of the Colonials moniker name.

The George Washington University will change the name of its student center from Cloyd Heck Marvin Center to University Student Center, the university announced.
The Board of Trustees of GW voted on the name change based on suggestions from a special committee conformed of students, faculty, staff and alumni, according to a press release.
