The Council, headed by Dr Mohammed Yahuza, had on April 20th, 2021, suspended Odusanya from office to pave way for investigations into allegations of misconduct leveled against him over irregularities in appointments between 1st August 2020 and 10th February 2021.
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by Chief Information Officer, Foluso Ogunmodede, and the Special Adviser on Media Matters to the Vice-Chancellor, Wole Balogun, titled, ‘FUOYE Governing Council sacks Odusanya as Registrar’.

The Governing Council being chaired by Dr. Mohammed Yahuza took the decision on Tuesday.
A statement co-signed by the Chief Information Officer and the Special Adviser on Media Matters to the Vice-Chancellor, Foluso Ogunmodede and Wole Balogun, respectively, disclosed that Odusanya’s appointment was terminated during the Council’s meeting.
However, the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has allayed the fear being entertained in the University community that following the exit of the Registrar, the university would come after those he had allegedly recruited in what has now been confirmed as irregular exercise.
Specifically, Fasina said those entertaining such fear or being furnished with such rumour should perish the thought as his administration was not going to witch-hunt any member of staff.

The staff and students of the University of Jos, on Monday, held a peaceful protest against a directive by the
National Universities Commission (NUC) suspending the process for the selection of a new vice-chancellor for the university.
Addressing journalists during the protest at the Naraguta Campus of the University, the secretary of the local branch of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Muplang Kangpe, decried the role of the NUC in the process.
“The involvement of the NUC in the selection process will truncate the due process laid down for the legal selection of the vice chancellor, that’s why we are protesting,” he said.
