UW Approves Designs for New Residence Halls
The University of Wyoming s Board of Trustees took a step forward to enact a plan to create new student housing.
Trustees last week approved the interior and exterior designs of two new residence halls and a dining facility, which will be located west of 15th Street, near McWhinnie Hall and Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center.
The five-level residence halls will house a total of 900 students.
Additionally, the board approved the exterior design of a three-level parking facility at the site of the current Ivinson parking lot at the southwest edge of campus. This facility will provide spaces for 375 vehicles when completed.

The University of Wyoming s Board of Trustees have selected Kevin Carman as the next provost and senior vice president of academic affairs.
Carman served as the provost at the University of Nevada, Reno from 2013 to 2020. The decision was announced Wednesday.
UW President Ed Seidel said that Carman s administrative experience will be an asset to the university. Having served for the past eight years as the executive vice president and provost of the University of Nevada, Reno and as dean of the College of Science for nine years at Louisiana State University, Dr. Carman is uniquely qualified to address many of the circumstances and challenges which UW is faced with at this point in our history, Seidel said in a statement.
