Free Exercise Clinic Launches Interactive Workshop Series In the Press Free Exercise Clinic Launches Interactive Workshop Series This spring, Yale Law School’s Free Exercise Clinic is launching an interactive workshop, and has invited students and faculty in the religious liberty clinics at Harvard, Stanford, and Texas to join each of the seven class sessions, which will take place remotely and synchronously. The assigned reading for each session is a classic or forthcoming article about religious liberty law and theory, and each class will feature the participation of the author(s) of the assigned article. This multi-law school class offering will afford participants a broad community in which to engage and debate timeless and pressing questions implicating the free exercise of religion.

Sales of U S Constitution copies topped 1 million in Trump years

According to NPD BookScan, which tracks around 85% of the print market, more than 1 million copies of the Constitution in various editions sold while Trump was office, compared with around 600,000 during the second term of President Obama. The spike began in 2016 when Trump became the Republican nominee for president: Sales more than doubled from the year before, from 114,000 copies to 275,000, and were nearly four times higher than in Obama’s first year in office, 2009. A chart shared by BookScan with the Associated Press shows several moments in the Trump presidency that coincided with increased sales of the Constitution: when he formally accepted the Republican nomination, in July 2016; his inauguration in January 2017; the hearings for Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh in September 2018; and the formal launch by the House of Representatives, in September 2019, of an impeachment inquiry into Trump’s efforts to pressure Ukraine’s president into investigating Biden.
