Jeffrey Duane Keith, age 61, Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 17 in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Laurel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The young woman, who was identified as Gabriella Smith, had gone hiking and never returned home. On Tuesday search crews found the young woman, who had fallen off the cliff in the Auxier Ridge area of the Red River Gorge Geological Area, Powell County Search and Rescue said in a statement.

A 24-year-old University of Kentucky student who went hiking at Red River Gorge has been found dead at the bottom of a 150-foot cliff, authorities said. CBS affiliate WKYT reports that authorities identified the woman as Gabriella Smith, a second-year medical student from Alexandria, Ky.
Powell County Search and Rescue said in a statement that the organization was notified Tuesday that the woman had gone hiking Monday and did not return. Crews were able to ping the woman s phone and watch to get GPS coordinates and began searching for her in the Auxier Ridge area, the statement said.
