KU inks MoU with BUET for research cooperation

The Karachi University and the Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Khuzdar, signed a memorandum of understanding for educational, scientific, and research cooperation.
According to the MoU, both universities have agreed to support each other for start-up, student entrepreneurship, and incubation setups. As per the MoU, both universities would assist students for startups at the pilot stage and prototype basis, training sessions, and exchange of faculty members and students, development and joint activities for the publication of research papers. They have also agreed to exchange knowledge to promote ecosystem, blue economy and tourism, and in this regard, they would also provide recommendations to the provincial and federal governments.
Mr Mengal was reportedly killed by drug peddlers last year.
Members of civil society, students, teachers and political workers participated in a walk organised by the Baloch Students Action Committee and Nushki Online to mark first death anniversary of Sami Mengal, who was a student of Balochistan University’s Zoology Department.
Addressing the walk participants, Professor Ghulam Dastgir Sabir, Aziz Jamaldini, Ghamkhwar Hayat, Abdul Wajid Mengal, Tayyab Yallanzai and others paid tribute to Sami Mengal for his struggle against widespread business of drugs in Nushki and surrounding areas.
They said drug smugglers killed Sami Mengal in front of his mother. They regretted that despite constant protests culprits had not yet been arrested.

The MMA fighter, who hails from Quetta and debuted in 2013, ducked an overhand right and countered Raju of India with a punch of his own, finishing him in just the opening minute of their fight.
