While the state auditor has not previously audited the zoo, zoo board chairman Keith Shumate said at a board meeting Wednesday that the auditor s office conducts periodic reviews as part of the (zoo s receipt of) levy funds.
The auditor s office would not share details about what specific type of audit is underway, or why it is auditing the zoo now.
It is an ongoing audit, Dumski said in a written statement, adding, It is our policy not to discuss ongoing work until it is completed and released.

Vermont finally broke through.
In the Catamounts’ third consecutive America East championship game appearance, Chris Feifs’ team claimed its first tournament title and the program’s first-ever NCAA tournament bid.
The No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, Vermont (9-4, AE 7-2) used a balanced offensive attack and a dominant performance at the faceoff X to dispatch fourth-seeded Albany 15-10. The victory is Vermont’s third win this season and fifth straight against the Great Danes.

LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - Lawton Public School’s Edison Elementary is finally being remodeled after it was badly damaged during the winter storm in February.
A small pipe burst and flooded the entire building, forcing students and staff to relocate for the last months of the school year.
Lawton Public School’s Jack Hanna is in charge of the remodel.
He said the water damaged everything from the floors and doors to the walls and cabinets.
“All the demolition has been done. We’re in the process of putting new sheetrock up, doing the taping and bedding, brocading the walls. We have all the flooring ordered and on-site already,” Hanna said.
