Killing of St Mary man, allegedly by family members outrages residents

Jerome Forrester Even as a mother and sister remain in police custody charged with the murder of their relative, at least three persons residing in St Mary are of the view that the alleged killers should not return to their home community of Tank Lane in Oracabessa, where the macabre-style killing occurred. And likewise, the St Mary residents believe the duo should not be granted bail by the court, despite them being nowhere near a trial for their alleged crimes. Twenty-six-year-old Jerome Forrester, otherwise called ‘Mop Head’, of Tank Lane, Oracabessa, St Mary was murdered on Christmas Day last year, the police reported.

The year everything changed

Advertisement Who’d have thought one of the first shows of 2020 would turn out to be the year’s most memorable? By mid-March, of course, sweaty, standing gigs had breathed their last, so we didn’t really have that much to go on. But there were plenty of highlights up until that point. Latham first noticed Alex Lynn a few weeks ago, after she performed at a New Energy Climate Panel organised by Jack River. Latham didn’t like that ‘airhead’ musicians were trying to speak about our climate crisis, and, despite absolutely no-one asking, tweeted out his dismay.

2021 BASSINTHEGRASS line-up revealed

Territory artists will also take to the stage, offering an incredible opportunity for local musos. The 2021 event follows the 2019 music extravaganza, which attracted a record crowd in a new location on the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets site. 2021 will kick off where 2019 left, after the 2020 event was postponed due to the Coronavirus. Those who purchased their tickets for 2020 have automatically secured their spot at next year’s event. The perfect Christmas present, tickets are now available for 2021 at www.bassinthegrass.com.au. Limited general admission tickets are available for $105 until 1 February (unless sold out prior), when final release tickets will go on sale for $120. Remember – this event usually sells out.
