Watertown, N.Y. A Syracuse man has been charged with stealing $1 million from Fuccillo Auto Group, his former employer, police said.
Joseph A. Pompo was working as Fuccillo’s director of taxation and finance last year when he stole the money, said Trooper Jack Keller, a New York State Police spokesman. The 31-year-old Syracuse man created a company under owner Billy Fuccillo Sr.’s name to pocket the money, Keller said.

William J. Kratz was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Kratz fired the shot that killed William R. Delany, 44, but Kratz has not been charged in Delany’s death, according to New York State Police spokesman Trooper Jack Keller. Police are still investigating the events that led to the shooting outside a home at 2861 Cold Springs Road in the village of Baldwinsville.

Lysander, N.Y. More than 20 animals are believed to have died in a barn fire Monday night at Purpose Farm in Lysander, state police said.
The fire was reported just after 5 p.m. Monday at 1454 W. Genesee Road, police spokesman Jack Keller said.
A video from inside the barn shows that one of the exotic birds knocked over a heat lamp, according to Keller.
