8 Quotes on Service by Those Who Have Served November 14, 2014 In honor of the service and sacrifice of so many in uniform, we at the Aspen Institute   asked the veterans on our Leadership Council to reflect on their own service. Specifically, we asked them to reflect on the links between the work the Franklin Project is doing on civilian national service and the service of men and women in uniform. The Lebanon High girls lacrosse team escaped Kearsarge with a second straight hard-fought win on Thursday afternoon, an 8-6 nailbiter over the Cougars in summer-like conditions. The win is the second this week for the Raiders (9-3) over Kearsarge following an 11-10 win in Lebanon on Tuesday. Catherine Cole led a balanced effort for the Raiders with three goals and an assist. “Overall, it was a great team effort. It’s a lot to play two tough games in three days against the same team,” Lebanon coach Sara Ecker said. “The girls came out focused and read to play today, having made some adjustments at practice yesterday.”

But after a pep talk from head coach Jesse Soulia, the Panthers made a big comeback and won 26-14 for their first victory of the season. The Panthers (1-3) scored 10 runs in the third to spark that comeback. “Tonight, I watched my team come together and support each other on and off the field,” Soulia said. “Players playing in places that they had not played before. Hits were contagious tonight and I surely enjoyed seeing all the smiles.”

In three of the four games, Morehead State’s offense was able to overpower the Racers, but an explosion at the plate from redshirt junior center fielder Jake Slunder helped Murray State capture a game three victory. Game One The Racers put freshman right-hander Jack Wenninger on the mound to start game one of the series on Friday, April 30. Wenninger has been a big help for the Racers, posting a 4-3 record coming into the game. However, the Morehead State offense exploited him as early as the first inning. AfterWenninger walked the second batter of the game, redshirt senior infielder Stephen Hill stepped up to the plate and hit a two-run home run.
