This week’s edition of KIMT’s Weekend Remake Throwdown takes on two films separated by 34 years and about an eon of human emotion – 1972’s “The Poseidon Adventure” and its 2006 remake, “Poseidon.” What difference does about a generation and a half mean in filmmaking? A whole lot more than just losing “The” and “Adventure” from the title. I mean, the Irwin Allen-produced original wasn’t exactly an inspired masterpiece but the 21st century version is so inferior in so many ways that I’m not sure I have the physical stamina to keep typing long enough to list them all.

After their theater productions have been absent for the last year, Lâarc en Ciel Theatre Group founders and husband/wife directors Paul and Angie Lowe are excited to get back to doing what they do bringing live theater back to the Region.
Now in their 16th year of residence at Great Oaks Banquet Hall and after 38 years of directing for LCTG at Lake Central High School, the Lowes are happily back in action for their 55th season together.
The new production Neil Simonâs The Sunshine Boys was scheduled for last season, but had to be postponed. This is one of our favorite shows and we are very grateful to have the cast return to pick up rehearsing again, and to discover after the first few rehearsals they fell back into their stride after 13 months away, said Angie. We first directed The Sunshine Boys in the early 2000âs and we could hardly wait to direct this show again.â added Paul.

I wanted to go into the city with her, escape criminals, sing the blues, and arrive home, Ferris Bueller-style, before anyone knew I was missing. A few years ago, I revisited the comedy with a friend and her daughter, who was probably about 8. A much wiser and worldlier child than I was, she also loved the pace of the movie â but was smart enough to ask why suburban kids would
