South Korea sparks anger with pregnancy advice telling women not to look ‘dishevelled’ April Roach
A South Korea government has come under fire for advising pregnant women not to look “dishevelled” and ensure their husbands have enough food while they are giving birth in hospital.
The advice, which was posted on a Seoul city government-run website, have since been taken down.
Expectant mothers were told to buy a hairband so that they “don’t look dishevelled after having the baby”.
The guidelines were published by the city government’s pregnancy and childbirth information centre and the content was “supervised” by the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, reports the Korean Herald.
