‘Soldiers’ on robbery spree with Military vehicle The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has arrested five suspected armed bandits who conduct their operations with a military service vehicle, with registration number 46 GA 92. The suspected bandits beseeched a site where some people were winning sand, took them hostage and robbed them of their car keys, phones and money and sped off. According to information from the Regional Police Command, a distress call was made to the Kasoa Division that some five men on-board a military service vehicle have attacked some sand winners at a site and seized their car keys. “They robbed them of their mobile phones, seized their car keys, including 7 tipper trucks and various sums of money at gun point and sped off”, the police said.

Dismissed Soldier, Three Others Arrested For Alleged Robbery

  A 35-year-old dismissed military officer, who used a military vehicle with registration number 46 GA to allegedly rob at gunpoint sand winners at Ofaakor near Kasoa, has been arrested by the Central Region Police. Corporal Kwame Ampaw was arrested together with his three civilian accomplices Isaac Appiah, a 43-year-old mechanic employee at Burma Camp, Emmanuel Arthur, and Bash Sulley, unemployed. The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Central Regional Police Command, DSP Irene Serwaa Oppong, who confirmed the arrest, said some of the sand winners had gunshot wounds and were sent to the Winneba Trauma hospital for treatment. On the arrest, she said the Kasoa Divisional Police Command received a distress call that about five men in a military vehicle had attacked sand winning workers on-site.
