Nearly 15 years after Prince Albert’s pulp mill closed, its B.C.-based owner has injected it with cash in an effort to get it back up and running.
Graham Kissack, the vice president of environment, health and safety and corporate communications at Paper Excellence, said in a “best-case scenario” the mill could reopen by the summer of 2023.

Paper Excellence announced on Friday that it recently invested more than $600,000 in engineering and consulting work “focused on restarting the Prince Albert pulp mill” and that it’s hopeful the mill will eventually employ 200 people and create more than $300 million annually in economic benefits for Saskatchewan.
