McKinney’s bustling tech hub gains another artificial intelligence startup Aiotics hopes to accelerate AI services across Dallas Fort-Worth. Aiotics signed a lease for a new headquarters at McKinney’s Barclays Technology Center on Weiskopf Avenue.( McKinney Economic Development Corporation ) 4:28 PM on May 27, 2021 CDT An early-stage artificial intelligence company is joining a growing tech hub backed by McKinney’s economic development corporation. Aiotics plans to create 20 new jobs over the next three years, bringing its total workforce to 22, according to the economic development corporation. The jobs will pay an average salary of $70,000. The company will receive a grant from the economic development group’s innovation fund to help it grow. The incentive amount was not disclosed.

City to buy former coal yard for $159,500

The City of Madison approved a resolution Tuesday to complete the purchase of eight parcels of property on the Madison riverfront for $10,000 less than the landâs appraised value. The property, located along the north and south side of the 300 block of East Vaughn Drive, is owned and/or formerly operated by Madison Coal & Supply Company. It came available to the city several months ago when the owners contacted the city to gauge interest in buying the site located primarily at the corner of Jefferson Street and Vaughn Drive. The land, unused by Madison Coal & Supply for several decades, is essentially an empty lot on the north side of Vaughn that has been used as storage by Madison Regatta and green space extending from the south side of Vaughn Drive to the Ohio River.

Donovan has filed a legal brief in support of former employees of Vermont Bread Co., who have gone to court to force the companyâs receiver to pay wages and benefits the workers say they were owed when the company abruptly closed last month. Former workers at Vermont Bread Co. in Brattleboro and Koffee Kup Bakery in Burlington were left jobless on April 26 when American Industrial Acquisition Corporation, the company that purchased the bakeries on April 1, shut the doors. Workers at locations in Brattleboro, Burlington, and North Grosvenor Dale, Conn., arrived for work that morning to find their jobs had vanished.
