Cannons Reunite Championship Players, Bring in Hogan From PLL Waiver Wire

Wednesday March 31st, 2021 3:00pm The Premier Lacrosse League Waiver Wire opened with the Cannons making plenty of moves acquiring the former Major League Lacrosse MVP and a Super Bowl champion, among others. The move that will make most national headlines is the Cannons picking up Chris Hogan, the former Super Bowl champion wide receiver with the New England Patriots, who was a midfielder at Penn State. That news was picked up by the Patriots franchise itself. How much of an impact he actually could make compared with plenty of full-time lacrosse options is yet to be seen, but it’s no surprise he’s been picked up by the team wearing Blue, Red and Silver.

Tehoka Nanticoke has been dismissed from Albany’s men’s lacrosse team. The senior attackman from Six Nations, Ontario, was reportedly dismissed “based on internal team issues,” and Chris Jastrzembski tweeted that the decision was partly a result of a pattern of confrontations, including reportedly yelling at teammates and coaches during the Great Danes’ 16-10 loss to Stony Brook on Saturday. Then there are times when the gods of modern digital interaction bestow upon you the gift of ideas. This is the latter. Ever since the PLL absorbed the MLL and offered up the Cannons as recompense, I have been asked which MLL players will make the jump. I gave my initial reaction there, but I felt like I needed to do more. There is so much more to say. How can you distill an entire professional league into one team? How does that team look on paper? Could that team beat a PLL team?
