KSHB and last updated 2021-01-11 15:44:50-05 KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri-based Commerce Bank has “suspended all support for officials who have impeded the peaceful transfer of power.” A Commerce Bank spokesperson said in a statement to 41 Action News that the company’s employee-funded political-action committee donates to elected officials in both parties “because of their pro-business records” and their interest in helping the banking industry. “Commerce Bank condemns violence in any form and believes the actions witnessed last week are abhorrent, anti-democratic and entirely contrary to supporting goodwill for Americans and businesses,” the spokesperson said.
