KANSAS CITY, Mo. â Kansas City, Missouri-based Commerce Bank has âsuspended all support for officials who have impeded the peaceful transfer of power.â
A Commerce Bank spokesperson said in a statement to 41 Action News that the companyâs employee-funded political-action committee donates to elected officials in both parties âbecause of their pro-business recordsâ and their interest in helping the banking industry.
âCommerce Bank condemns violence in any form and believes the actions witnessed last week are abhorrent, anti-democratic and entirely contrary to supporting goodwill for Americans and businesses,â the spokesperson said.
