Dans la nuit du 6 au 7 juillet 2021, un commando armé jusqu’aux dents s’est rendu au domicile du président Jovenel Moïse et y a pénétré sans résistance aucune. Les assaillants ont blessé son épouse et criblé le président de la République de 12 balles, selon le constat judiciaire. Curieusement, la date du 6 et 7 juillet ramène le troisième anniversaire des soulèvements de grande envergure du peuple haïtien pour protester contre la cherté de la vie, la misère et la faim suite à la décision du régime d’augmenter les prix de l’essence à la pompe. Ces soulèvements ont duré 3 jours. Les insurgés ont pillé plusieurs magasins, incendié des maisons, brûlé des pneus, érigé des barricades pour manifester leur colère. Haitian authorities have arrested a man they say helped orchestrate the assassination of President Jovenel Moise, the country s police chief announced on Sunday.
Moise was killed Wednesday in his Port-au-Prince home, in an attack that has shaken a country already rattled by rampant violence and political instability.
The arrested suspect, identified as 63-year-old Christian Emmanuel Sanon, entered the country on a private jet in June, said Police Chief Leon Charles at a news conference.
