More than 17,700 veterans under the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Coastal Healthcare system have received the coronavirus vaccine, officials said.
But with more than 73,000 veterans in the system, which spans 19 southeastern counties in North Carolina, providers want to ensure all who are eligible for the vaccine receive it.
That is why a drive-thru vaccine event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Fayetteville VA Healthcare Center, 7300 S. Raeford Road, said Tara Ricks, a spokeswoman for the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Coastal Healthcare system.
Eligible veterans who are already in the VA healthcare system must call in advance to schedule their appointment through their provider at 910-475-6622. To help ensure physical distancing is maintained, no walk-ins will be accepted, Ricks said.
