With his possible exit from prison looming, police charged Lawrence on Thursday with two counts of acts done in preparation for terrorist attacks.

The offences carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
âWith the good work conducted by the NSW [joint counter-terrorism team] and NSW Policeâs high risk terrorism offenders team, this investigation uncovered alleged plots to harm the very men and women whom our community members trust to keep them safe,â AFP Assistant Commissioner Scott Lee said.

After an investigation spanning more than two years, the 24-year-old was charged yesterday with two counts of acts done in preparation for or planning terrorist acts.
Police will allege that they found evidence in his cell showing the man was planning acts of violent extremism on police, military personnel and correctional staff.

A stepson has been remanded in custody on attempted murder charges after he allegedly kicked his elderly stepfather in the face and ran him down with a car.
The incident began at the pair s family home in Telopea, western Sydney, on Sunday afternoon when Mark Morgan, 30, allegedly assaulting the 70-year-old man inside the house.
Morgan then allegedly dragged his stepfather outside onto the property s nature strip and kicked him in the face before driving off.
Police say he then drove back to the home and allegedly hit the victim with his car.
The impact of the collision threw the 70-year-old at least three metres and knocked him unconscious. He remains in hospital.

The 38-year-old man was arrested by investigators at a house in Peri Court, Wattle Grove, at about 7.30am on Friday. Investigators seized six firearms, five gel-blaster guns, firearm parts, 43 rounds of ammunition and shotgun shells at the residence, NSW Police said in a statement on Saturday.
