The latest high-profile investigation to reveal the Lobbying Act’s shortcomings demonstrates that the legislation still needs a parliamentary review, says Canada’s lobbying watchdog.
“What we’ve seen in the last year, with the studies that have been made (and) the reports that have been issued, (is that) it is important that we now take the time to review the Act,” Lobbying Commissioner Nancy Bélanger told iPolitics on Tuesday.

We begin overseas, where the last day of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s international trip has been focused on vaccines. As CBC News reports, he was part of a mini-summit with leaders of the European Union today “that was part business, part thank-you for co-operation in securing Canada a share of European-manufactured coronavirus vaccines.” So far, 60 per cent of Canada’s vaccine haul has come from the EU. Talk also turned to how to grant access to affordable coronavirus vaccines in other parts of the world.
