Mhada lottery at Bandra in Mumbai
MUMBAI: The long awaited redevelopment of the city s Bombay Development Directorate (BDD) chawls finally got off the ground Thursday.
Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) conducted a lottery to allot apartments to eligible tenants of the old, dilapidated structures in Lower Parel.
However the construction of the buildings is yet to begin.
The entire project constitutes the largest resettlement undertaking in the country given the sprawl of these old buildings in South Mumbai.
This particular lottery was drawn for 272 tenants of the five hectare BDD Chawl plot at NM Joshi Marg, Lower Parel.
Mumbai: MHADA to conduct lottery for BDD chawl tenants today
Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is ready to conduct a housing lottery draw today for the tenants residing in the Bombay Development Directorate (BDD) chawls at NM Joshi Marg. An official release stated, Total 272 tenants have been shifted in transit houses and a lottery will be held for these tenants. There are a total 700 tenants, of which 607 tenants have been proved eligible. It has signed a transit agreement with 314 tenants at the site. The housing minister of Mumbai suburbs and the city guardian minister will be present on the occasion.

Pune: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) on Friday, i.e. 22nd January 2021, took out the draw for 5,579 flats and 68 plots in Pune division. The draw began at 9 am today.
The names of successful applicants in the draw will be published on the MHADA website (https://lottery.mhada.gov.in/OnlineApplication/Pune/) later today.
MHADA received 53,000 applications for affordable homes and plots in Pune, Solapur, Sangli and Kolhapur.
The MHADA Pune lottery 2020 registration started on 10th December 2020.
