+ May 19, 2021 THE Ministry of Health on the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-Barmm) has turned over Tuesday, May 18, 2021, several units of ambulances, medical equipment, and financial assistance to various recipients under the Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s Transition Development Impact Fund (TDIF) project.
IPOH: A 35-year-old man armed with a parang entered the grounds of the Armed Forces’ border battalion in Gerik and died after he was shot during a struggle with the personnel there.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said on Sunday (May 9) that the man climbed over the main gate of the 4th Regiment battalion at about 6.45pm on Saturday (May 8).
He said the man was warned by the personnel at the security post, but instead he turned aggressive by attacking them using the weapon he brought along.
“During the struggle, the army personnel opened fire and hit the man. The incident was reported to the police by the battalion representatives, and the man was rushed to the Gerik Hospital for treatment, but he died later, ” he said.
The suspects, aged 23 to 35, were arrested in separate locations around Gombak and Sentul.
Gombak district police chief ACP Arifai Tarawe said the incident occurred around 3am, when the 58-year-old storekeeper, who was opening his store, was confronted by two of the four suspects armed with a parang. He was then dragged to the back of his store, where they proceeded to tie his legs.
He said the suspects then ransacked the store and took cigarettes of various brands along with RM2,000 in cash. In addition, the victim’s daughter, who came to the store, was also robbed of her gold ring, ” he said in a statement on Sunday.
