JABU honours lawmaker, two others

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kola Sonaike, in a statement on Monday, said the institution decided to honour the lawmaker and two others with honorary doctorate degrees in recognition of their commitment to nation-building. The federal Lawmaker who bagged an honorary doctorate in Public Administration was among the three eminent Nigerians honoured at the 11th convocation ceremony of the university held on Friday. A former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshall Oluseyi Petinrin(retd.) and the Managing Director of First Registrars, Mr Bayo Olugbemi, were the two other recipients of the honorary doctorate degrees.

Prof. Kola Sonaike, the Vice Chancellor, stated this on Monday at a press conference, ahead of the institution’s 11th convocation scheduled for Friday. Sonaike noted that 395 students would receive first degree certificates, comprising 21 First Class honours, 181 Second Class Upper, 157 Second Class Lower and 36 Third Class, respectively. The bankers said this during a virtual presentation on Tuesday titled ‘7th BAA/CIBNCFS Economic Outlook: Implications for businesses in Nigeria for 2021’.
