The Nigerian Army said on Sunday night that its troops of 8 divisions, deployed for clearance Operations against armed bandits in Zamfara state and adjourning states have killed 5 Bandits’ Commanders and neutralized 48 others in separate gun battles under ‘Operation Mutane’.
During the Operation, eighteen (18) kidnapped victims were successfully rescued from the bandit’s camps.
Brig General Mohammed Yerima, Director, Army Public Relations who made this known in a statement added that Several Bandits’ camps were destroyed while sophisticated arms and ammunition were captured.
He said, “Troops of 8 Division, Nigerian Army operating in Zamfara and adjoining States made tremendous progress in the ongoing fight against banditry and other violent crimes in the North West.

Usman Yusuf, launched the first phase of the operation that lasted from March 23 to April 2 in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara.

A statement signed by Brig General Mohammed Yerima, Director, Army Public Relations said the troops killed 5 Bandits’ Commanders and neutralized 48 others in separate gun battles under ‘Operation Mutane’.
According to Yerima, the Division had earlier launched Operation Tsare Mutane following the directives of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru.

The Nigerian Army says the troops of 8 Division operating in Zamfara and adjoining states have eliminated ‘many commanders’ and 48 members of bandits’ gangs in the North-west.
The spokesperson of the army, Mohammed Yerima, said this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
Mr Yerima, a brigadier-general, said the Division had earlier launched “Operation Tsare Mutane” following the directives of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Ibrahim Attahiru.

The troops in a statement signed by Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, the Director Army Public Relations said they successfully cleared many bandits’ camps in Jaya, Kadaya, and Bayan Ruwa amongst several others and successfully neutralised 48 bandits.
They added that the bandits’ leader in the area Jummo sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and the troops rescued 18 kidnap victims from the bandits’ enclave.
Moreover, eight AK-47 rifles and one G3 rifle, as well as one PKT and a Machine Gun were recovered from the Bandits.
