Manchester United were dumped out of the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage by rivals Man City last night.
United s 2-0 reverse to Pep Guardiola s side represented their fourth semi-final defeat in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer s tenure though the Norwegian insisted there is no mental block for his players.
United were also beaten by City in the Carabao Cup last season, and by Sevilla and Chelsea in the semi-finals of the Europa League and FA Cup respectively. But Solskjaer said: It s not psychological. It s just sometimes you meet good teams in the semis and we just didn t have enough. We met, at the moment, probably the best team in England and we just didn t have enough.
THE FA panel which banned Edinson Cavani for three matches found that the Man United striker was not racist and had not known his language was offensive, it was revealed today.
The three-man independent regulatory commission accepted that Cavani had not intended to cause offence when using the word “negrito” – which translates literally as “little black man” – in an Instagram post on November 29. The post was in reply to a friend, Pablo Fernandez, who told the commission that “negrito” is his lifelong nickname.
The Uruguayan deleted the post immediately and apologised for any offence caused.
But there was shock from the commission that United had not at that stage given the player media training, given the size of Cavani’s social media following.

The company is currently involved in one of the first pilot projects of the ‘Immune Buildings’ certification at offices in Bucharest, Romania. The project is the World’s first open source global certification to confirm a building’s level of immunity and resilience to respond to future health challenges.
The CleanAir Spaces technology treats indoor air and surfaces by producing active ions of hydrogen peroxide (which are safe to humans) which circulate continuously and actively to remove pollutants, viruses, bacteria and other pathogens.
