SPOKANE, Wash. Spokane’s Ice Age Floods playground will be finished May 21, marking the end of the five-year redevelopment work of Riverfront Park.
There will be a virtual ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. on Riverfront Park’s Facebook page that day, and the playground will officially open to the public at noon.
“Thank you to the Spokane community for voting to support the redevelopment of our city’s downtown urban park,” said Parks & Rec director Garrett Jones, director of Parks & Recreation. “What used to be a dirt parking lot is now a playground, basketball court, skate park, climbing boulder, and green space, with improved parking as well. This is a huge transformation, and it’s free to use for everyone in our community.”
