Last chance for a splash: Snowy Monaro pools closing for season
Temperatures are dropping and the frosts are already setting in with the arrival of autumn in the Snowy Monaro, which means it’s time to get down to your local pool for one last splash.
Thanks to all the pool staff, swim coaches, swimmers, visitors and carers who utilised our pools this season.
Bombala, Berridale and Adaminaby Pools will close Saturday 20 March 2021 and reopen Saturday 20 November 2021.
Cooma Pool will close Wednesday 31 March 2021 and reopen in the spring, with a specific date to be announced soon.
“Our public pools are a great resource for the community to keep fit and active and Council encourages everyone to get out and put in a few laps before they shut down for the cooler months,” said Mayor Peter Beer, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

Bushfire recovery grants available for Snowy Monaro projects
Thanks to a grant from the Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund to Snowy Monaro Regional Council, funding from $1000-5000 is available for suitable small-scale community activities.
Funded by disaster recovery arrangements between the Commonwealth and State governments, applications are open now through until 9 April 2021 and the community is encouraged to apply.
Projects need to meet specified Disaster Recovery Outcomes to qualify for grant funding. These are:
• The needs of vulnerable groups are addressed in disaster recovery
• The community is aware of the disaster recovery processes
• The community can express its changing disaster recovery needs
Volunteers with the Jindabyne Art Gallery will soon begin moving into a new temporary space provided by Snowy Monaro Regional Council for a trial period.
