MONTGOMERY, AL. (WFIE) - Bella Coffey and Mea Adams recorded three hits apiece to push the University of Evansville softball team to a 5-1 victory over Alabama State in Sunday morning’s final game of the Black & Gold Tournament.
“It was great to be back on the field after almost a year. I really love the way the team ended the weekend competing on every pitch,” UE head softball coach Mat Mundell exclaimed. “It took us a bit to get going but we talked about making adjustments and the team really stepped up.”
Randy Smith: I Will Miss Jim Frost Friday, January 8, 2021 - by Randy Smith

I have written about this way too much in the last year. Remembrances of local sports legends who passed away is beginning to make me feel really old and really sad, especially when they pass away after battling COVID-19. Everyone in Chattanooga knew who Jim Frost was. He was the man who built Frost Cutlery into the thriving multi-million-dollar business it is today. However, he is also the man who gave and gave and continued to give to support local girls softball. His franchise, the Frost Falcons, was and still is a force to be reckoned with on a national level.
