I hope you had a chance to watch the referendum debate on Tuesday that was sponsored by the Panama City News Herald. I cannot thank the News Herald, and specifically Mike Cazalas, enough for putting this together, and I also sincerely appreciate the participation of Alexis Underwood, Dr. Jon Ward and Tho Bishop.
As a former social studies teacher, I believe firmly in the power of debate, and I’m grateful for any chance I get to brag about the amazing employees of Bay District Schools and all they do for the children in our community.

LETTER: Erickson is on the right, but not in the right
The News Herald
In reference to Erick Erickson’s column in the March 5 News Herald, “Evangelicalism’s critical theory problem.”
Erick Erickson: Critical theory is a Marxist idea developed in postmodernity in which absolutes, objectivity and absolute truth are no longer accepted.
Mike Cown: Up is still not at the bottom of the sea. Right and wrong are still easily discernible by people who fact-check newspapers like the Panama City News Herald. These Absolutes are widely accepted.
I am practicing Objectivity by enumerating the lack of intelligence of people who listen to GobbledygookrRantings of the Ericksons of the world.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Wabash Township board member Michelle Wietbrock resigned Tuesday, becoming the fourth township board member to resign since Trustee Jennifer Teising took office in January 2019. Effective immediately, I submit my notice of resignation from the Wabash Township Advisory Board, Wietbrock wrote. This decision was not made lightly, but rather with no other choice due to increased family needs and health issues.
Teising wrote, I wish Michelle the best in her future endeavors and was sorry to hear about her personal struggles.
Wietbrock was appointed by caucus in February 2020 to replace Elizabeth Tran, who was elected in 2018, took office in 2019 and resigned in January 2020.
