Eagles stay or go: Linebacker

Alex Singleton Singleton was a rare bright spot in 2020. He only played 54 snaps the first five weeks of the season, and he still finished 15th in the NFL with 120 tackles. Give him those five full games as a three-down LB, and maybe he would have led the NFL in tackles? He proved that he is at least worthy of competing for a starting three-down role in 2021. Visit TheLines.com, PhillyVoice’s official 2020/2021 betting odds partner, for the latest upcoming NFL game lines and odds. #JimmyVerdict: Singleton will be an exclusive rights free agent, which means the Eagles can retain him for very little money, which they clearly will.

Don t rush to judge Nick Sirianni after one bad press conference

Why are we talking about this and not Sirianni s offensive philosophy or the five core principles he outlined during his 11-minute opening statement on Friday afternoon? Well, that s because the Eagles coach didn t say a whole lot of substantive value during his presser, and the way he didn t say those things has taken over the majority of the internet s collective focus.  There s a clip making the rounds on Twitter of Sirianni bumbling his way through part of his introductory press conference on Friday. It s bad enough on its own, but what makes it even worse is that throughout the clip, Sirianni is talking about how smart his team needs to be. If we re being honest, it s tough to watch. And Sirianni would probably be the first one to admit that.
