Court of Appeal President Justice William Ouko’s long service in the Judiciary became the centre of focus in his quest to become the country’s next Chief Justice with questions over his failure to initiate reforms.
Justice Ouko was also put to task for being a police reservist for ten years rising to the rank of an inspector at a time when he was the Registrar of the High Court, and for not doing enough to help political dissidents who were put in detention.

In wake of the recent surge in Covid 19 cases in national capital, the Delhi High Court on Friday has temporarily amended physical mode regarding service of notice, summons and daks by permitting the same to be effected through email, fax or whatsapp till further orders.
The circular issued by the Registrar of the High Court however mentions that the conventional mode of physical delivery may be permitted to be restored once the normalcy returns. Till further orders, all documents/ notices/ summons/Daks through physical mode be dispensed with, except where there is a specific order to that effect by the Hon ble Court, and that such service be instead permitted to be effected through e-mail/ fax/whatsapp.

High Court in Blantyre will next week Thursday deliver its ruling on whether business mogul Thomson Mpinganjira has a case to answer in his alleged bribery case.
A notice signed by the Registrar of the High Court and Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal, Gladys Gondwe, states that the ruling will be delivered in the morning by Judge Dorothy De Gabrielle.
Mpinganjira, who was arrested in January 2020, is accused of attempting to bribe five judges of the High Court sitting as a Constitutional Court who were presiding over the historic presidential election nullification case.
