It is time to celebrate everything great about the Agnes Water and 1770 region while stretching the legs and improving your fitness.
The 1770 Festival is back for 2021, May 21 to 23, and features Australian music legend Troy Cassar-Daley.
The Festival will be held at the SES grounds on Captain Cook Drive, Seventeen Seventy.
The Fun Run will be held on Sunday, May 23, with runners and walkers of all ages and abilities invited to take part in either two kilometre and five kilometre courses.
This will be a COVID-safe event with physical distancing and other hygiene protocols in place.
Dressing up is encouraged with a range of prizes on offer for the best costumes in line with this year’s race theme – “The Spirit of 1770”.

A scenic thoroughfare in the Gladstone region is set for a facelift after the Gladstone Regional Council successfully obtained funding.
GRC secured $980,000 in Works for Queensland funding to conduct road resurfacing along Captain Cook Drive, from Agnes Water to Seventeen Seventy.
The resurfacing work started this week and will be carried out between 52 Captain Cook Drive and the Agnes Water Waste Transfer Station, with expected completion 30 May 2021.
The project includes repair, renewal and upgrade of existing road surfaces which provide access to residential, business and commercial networks and infrastructure.
Work will be carried out from Monday to Friday, 6am-6pm, weather permitting.
WEATHER REPORT AND TIDES It continues to be a wet start to the week with the weather bureau predicting a 100 per cent chance of rain on Monday. Most areas, including Maroochydore, Caloundra and Nambour, are expected to reach a high of 25C, while Maleny is a bit colder at 22C and Noosa Heads is expected to reach 26C. Low tide at Maroochydore Beach is expected to be at 9.58am, followed by a high tide of 1.17m at 3.26pm. Tides are low again at 9.06pm.
TRAFFIC No crashes have been reported on Monday morning. Roadworks remain at Frizzo Connection Road, Tanawha, Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs, Bruce Highway, Palmview and Sunshine Motorway, Sippy Downs.
Land valuations for the Gladstone region have been issued by the Queensland Valuer General, with a decline in value in most localities attributed to the timing of the assessments.
The valuations have been dated October 1, 2020, which was before the Gladstone property market reached its current and significantly higher level.
âThe Valuer-General released land valuations for 28,429 properties with a total value of $3,536,001,969 in the Gladstone Regional Council area,â the Valuer Generalâs department said in a statement.
âThe valuations reflect land values at October 1, 2020, and show that Gladstone Regional Council has decreased by 7.8 per cent overall since the last valuation in 2018.â
Southeast Queensland is once again preparing for extreme rain and flooding. More than 100mm of rain is expected from above Bundaberg to the Sunshine coast.
