Yoga guru Ramdev on Friday released a research paper by Haridwar-based Patanjali Research Institute on the first evidence-based ayurvedic medicine against the coronavirus disease, Coronil. Ramdev s Patanjali had last year brought out its medicine against Covid-19. Union health minister Harsh Vardhan and Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari were also present at the event. Coronil has now received certification from Ayush Ministry as per World Health Organization (WHO) certification scheme. Coronil has received the Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (CoPP) from the Ayush section of Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation as per the WHO certification scheme, said Patanjali in a statement. Under CoPP, Coronil can now be exported to 158 countries.

The Ayurveda economy has witnessed up to 90 per cent growth after the COVID-19 pandemic, as Ayurveda has gained global acceptance, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Friday.
The sector has also witnessed a significant surge in export as well as investment, he said.
