Several New MTB Trails Coming to Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine, Along with a 2021 EWS Qualifier Event

The northeastern-most state in the US is Maine, bordered by New Hampshire, the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec, and the ever chilly Atlantic Ocean. Originally inhabited by Algonquian-speaking indigenous peoples, the state is well known for its rich forest and marine environments.
Cross Country Olympian turned enduro pro, Adam Craig, grew up racing and riding on the natural singletracks of Maine. As a teenager he competed in the Trail 66 Race Series, with combined gravity and XC events to push local athletes to their limits. Now retired from racing, wearing digging gloves instead of a heart rate monitor, Craig has returned to his home turf to scratch in some new trails and put on an EWS qualifying event on Sugarloaf Mountain. The Enduro World Series has just announced an updated racing schedule for 2021 that sees the introduction of double-header events and the removal of the Chilean and Colombian rounds.
After a reduced season of racing this year, the EWS is looking ahead to the next year of racing and it has already pushed the season start back to the end of June in Val Di Fassa. The Italian round will kick off the 2021 EWS with a double-header event, this will see riders racing both on Thursday and Sunday in the same week.
