Rob Hewett is back as chairman of Silver Fern Farms Co-operative.
At its annual meeting in Dunedin last week, West Otago farmer Richard Young announced he was standing down as chairman, although he would see out his remaining two-year period as a director.

Farms in Hawke s Bay are at risk of staff fatigue as they struggle with a shortage of specialist skilled workers, says Hawke s Bay Federated Farmers president. This follows the decision of the Productivity Commission to hold an inquiry into our current immigration settings.

This species is called
Ramisyllis multicaudata, and it s possibly the strangest worm on the planet. It was first discovered in 2006, and formally described in 2012. Now, for the first time, scientists have conducted a detailed study of its anatomy, finally revealing more about this enigmatic creature - and raising even more questions about how it lives its bizarre life.
