Gas prices steady, but remain high

April 23, 2021   UNDATED – Gas prices remain high, but steady during the month of April according to the American Automobile Association. LaSalle and Putnam County County both average a price of $2.98 per gallon and Bureau County not far behind at three dollars per gallon. Halpin says the federal, state, and local parties are all on board. Now he says it s time for the Iowa Interstate Railroad to come on board too. The railroad company owns the tracks from Bureau County, Illinois to Moline, but they d have to upgrade them to make them ready for passenger trains. The distance between the two locations is about 55 miles.
