Driver seriously injured in rollover crash near Santee shopping center

SANTEE, Calif. (CNS) A 40-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a rollover crash near a Santee shopping center, authorities said Monday.
The crash happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday near the Costco on Town Center Parkway, north of Mission Gorge Road, said San Diego County Sheriff s Sgt. Michael Tingley.
Deputies responded and found a Jeep SUV had rolled over and was blocking the northbound lanes of Town Center Parkway, Tingley said. They also found damage to a light pole, a tree and shrubs in the median.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A brush fire of one to two acres was knocked down Sunday in Allied Gardens.
The fire broke out about 3 p.m. Sunday near Princess View Drive and Mission Gorge Road, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said.
No structures were threatened and the fire was 10% contained by 4:23 p.m. Sunday.
The crews will be at scene for at least two hours to create a barrier between the burned and unburned brush and to make sure all embers and hot spots are completely out, the SDFRD said.

HARBISON CANYON, Calif. (KGTV) - Deputies are looking into a possible link between two vehicle-to-vehicle shootings in the East County area that occurred earlier this week.
On Monday night, around midnight, Karen Belchamber was headed from her grandsonâs home.
She was driving from Alpine to Lakeside in her MINI Cooper. She was headed westbound on I-8, right before the Harbison Canyon-Dunbar Lane exit, when a dark SUV raced past her in the passing lane, before cutting into her lane and suddenly stopping.

SANTEE, CA A man was wounded in a shooting Monday morning on state Route 125 in Santee.
Deputies from the Santee Sheriff s Station responded to a report of a shooting shortly before 8 a.m. on northbound SR-125. As the victim, a 28-year-old man, approached the terminus of the 125 at Mission Gorge Road, a black SUV began driving parallel to the victim s vehicle, sheriff s Detective Tyler Norby said. An occupant of the SUV fired several shots into the direction of the victim s vehicle, striking the victim who sustained a gunshot wound to the neck.
