Richie McDonald, vocalist in 1990s and 2000s country hitmaking group Lonestar, says he s exiting the band.
McDonald confirmed his departure in a statement Thursday. Part of the band s original lineup that formed in the early 1990s, McDonald sang on massive Lonestar hits Amazed, I m Already There and Not A Day Goes By.
He previously took a hiatus from the band in 2008 before rejoining in 2011.
In announcing his departure, McDonald joins trio The Frontmen of Country full-time. The group features McDonald, former Little Texas singer Tim Rushlow and Restless Heart frontman Larry Stewart. The band signed a booking deal with The Kinkead Entertainment Agency and plans to hit the road in 2021.
