BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (FOX19) - A 26-year-old man shot by an acting detective with the Butler County Sheriffâs Office was planning âsuicide by cop,â Sheriff Richard Jones said.
Sheriffâs officials and a federal agent with Homeland Security went to a residence in the 4200 block of Jennifer Drive in Ross Township with a search warrant as part of a child pornography investigation.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Ohio A detective serving a search warrant Monday at a home as part of a child pornography investigation shot and wounded the suspect, who confronted officers armed with a firearm, officials say.
Alex Hoskins, 26, was treated and released at a hospital after the shooting, according to a news release from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Hoskins is being held in the Butler County Jail on a felonious assault charge and three counts illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material/performance.

A Milton man has been charged with murder after he allegedly killed a woman with a hatchet and buried her body in his backyard.
Johnny Edwards Malisham, 60, was arrested Sunday after Santa Rosa County Sheriff s Office investigators worked with University of West Florida anthropologists to unearth the woman s body from below a backyard burn pit.
SRSO spokesman Sgt. Rich Aloy told the News Journal that authorities believe the body is Cynthia Hoover, a 60-year-old Milton woman who went missing in March. All indications are leading us to believe it is most likely Cynthia Hoover, Aloy said. But positive identification has not been done by the medical examiner.
