GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â Sitting around their kitchen table, Brett and Kellie Zammitt pack one box at a time.
âIt makes me feel like I have just so much purpose in being her mom,â said Kellie Zammitt.
Each box is filled with thoughtful mementos, like a canvas for footprints, a swaddle with a personal note, and a stuffed bear.
âWe kind of poured our grief into this,â said Brett Zammitt.
The goal is to give items that allow parents to remember their child.

Grand Rapids-based Spectrum Health will expand its network relationship with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan by joining the Blue Cross Medicare Advantage PPO network beginning July 1.
Spectrum Health which is already a network provider for Blue Cross and Blue Care Network commercial plan members, as well as BCN Advantage Medicare plan members will welcome seniors with Blue Cross Medicare Advantage PPO plans to Spectrum Health physician offices and Spectrum Health’s 14 hospital locations in West Michigan.
This will enable Blue Cross members who have existing relationships with Spectrum Health physicians to seamlessly transition from their commercial HMO and PPO coverage to a Blue Cross Medicare Advantage plan.

Spectrum Health and Medtronic plc entered an agreement with the goal of improving outcomes for Spectrum Health patients while reducing the cost of care.
The two organizations will explore the creation of value-based health care programs to support the adoption and appropriate use of medical technologies and therapies at Spectrum Health.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â March is all about celebrating social workers in all capacities during Social Work Month.
The slogan this year is Social Workers are Essential, and it couldnât be more fitting during the pandemic.
Allyson Tafelski, a medical social worker at Spectrum Healthâs emergency department at Butterworth Hospital, said, âItâs not glamorous. Itâs often we see people on their worst days.â
However, the role is a fulfilling one for her.
She said, âThere are certain patients that you just feel like you made a difference that particular day, and they tell you that you did.â
